Billing & Subscription
Real ID for WooCommerce uses Stripe for billing. You can manage your subscription from two places: the Billing tab inside the plugin, or the Real ID dashboard.
Your license key is what connects your store to your subscription — see Billing & Activation for how to activate one.
Where to manage billing
| In the plugin | Real ID dashboard | |
|---|---|---|
| Where | Real ID → Settings → Billing | dashboard.getverdict.com |
| You need | WordPress admin access | Your Real ID dashboard login |
| Use it to | Update your payment method, view invoices, cancel | All of that, plus change plans and buy additional license keys |
If you only need to update a card or download an invoice, the plugin is the quickest route — you don't need a separate dashboard login.
Viewing your current plan
- Open the Real ID plugin in your WordPress admin
- Go to Settings → Billing
The Current Plan card shows:
- Your plan — the name of your current subscription plan
- Check type — whether your plan uses A.I. powered or manual ID checking
- Price per ID check — your current per-check rate
If your account has complimentary pricing applied, you'll see your standard rate struck through with the discounted rate beside it.
Updating your payment method
This is the fastest way to replace an expiring or declined card:
- Open the Real ID plugin in your WordPress admin
- Go to Settings → Billing
- Click Manage Subscription
You'll be redirected to the Stripe customer portal, where you can:
- Update payment method — Replace the credit or debit card on file
- View invoices — Download past invoices and receipts
- Cancel subscription — End your Real ID subscription
Manage Subscription identifies your account from the license key already activated on your site, so you won't be asked to sign in again.
Changing your plan
Plan changes are handled in the Real ID dashboard rather than the Stripe portal.
- Open the Real ID plugin in your WordPress admin
- Go to Settings → Billing
- Click Change Plan
This opens dashboard.getverdict.com, where you can upgrade or downgrade your subscription.

Subscription warnings in the plugin
If something is wrong with your subscription, Real ID shows a banner at the top of the plugin with a Manage Subscription button. This appears when your subscription is:
- Canceled — ID verification is no longer active
- Past due — a payment failed and is awaiting retry
- Unpaid — an invoice went unsettled after retries
- Scheduled to cancel — still active, but ending at the close of the current billing period
The banner reacts to payments that have already failed — it does not warn you ahead of time when the card on file is about to expire. If your card is nearing its expiry date, update it from Manage Subscription before your next invoice to avoid an interruption.
Canceling your subscription
You can cancel from either route. From the plugin:
- Go to Settings → Billing
- Click Manage Subscription
- In the Stripe portal, click Cancel plan
- Confirm the cancellation
Download any ID check photos or data you need first. See Downloading Customer Photos.
For what happens after cancellation, and how to reactivate, see Billing & Activation.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a dashboard account to update my card?
No. Settings → Billing → Manage Subscription works directly from the plugin using your activated license key. The dashboard login is only needed to change plans or purchase additional license keys.
Why do I see "Activate Real ID" instead of my plan?
The Billing tab shows the license key activation form instead of your plan when either:
- the plugin is running in test mode, or
- no license key has been activated on this site yet
Enter your license key from the Real ID dashboard to switch the site to live mode. See Billing & Activation.
Where do I find my invoices?
Go to Settings → Billing → Manage Subscription. Invoices and receipts are downloadable from the Stripe portal.
What payment methods are accepted?
Real ID accepts all major credit and debit cards through Stripe, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.
My payment failed — is ID verification still running?
ID verification keeps running while Stripe retries the payment. If the invoice ultimately goes unpaid, your subscription is canceled and the plugin reverts to test mode. Update your payment method from Manage Subscription to settle the outstanding invoice.
Will canceling affect my existing orders?
No. Canceling Real ID won't modify, cancel, or refund any orders. ID verification stops for new orders, and existing ID check data remains accessible until the 90-day retention period ends.
I run multiple stores — do I need a subscription for each?
Each site needs its own license key. See Multiple License Keys for how to purchase additional keys.
